Here are some frequently asked questions about waxing to provide you with more information.
Waxing can cause a little bit of discomfort, especially at first. But the good news is, the pain usually gets better with regular waxing sessions. This is because your hair will grow back thinner and softer over time. Think of it like a bravery test with a super smooth reward at the end!
Get ready to enjoy silky-smooth skin for 3 to 6 weeks! The exact length of time will depend on your own hair growth cycle. But here’s the best part: with regular waxing, you might even notice your hair growing back slower over time. Woohoo!
To get the best results from your waxing session, it’s recommended to exfoliate your skin beforehand. This removes dead skin cells and allows for smoother hair removal. Also, let your hair grow for minimum of 3 weeks allowing the wax can grab onto it properly.
Yes absolutely, please use a fresh tampon prior to your intimate waxing treatment. Some people experience more sensitivity due to hormonal changes. If it’s your first intimate wax, I would recommend scheduling your appointment for another time in your cycle.
After waxing, it’s important to follow the aftercare advice given to you by Krissie. Skin should settle within 24-48 hours.
Absolutely! Waxing can be suitable for sensitive skin, The range of waxes used at Nikita Salon include a hypoallergenic wax. Be sure to mention to your therapist Krissie about any sensitivities you have and do a patch test beforehand.
There are two main types of wax used for waxing: strip wax and hot wax. Strip wax is a thin layer applied to the skin and removed with a paper/fabric strip. It’s generally used for larger areas like legs, arms, back, and chest as the stickiness of the wax adheres to hairs to remove it. Hot wax is thicker and applied directly to the skin. It’s then left to cool slightly before being peeled off. Hot wax is often used for more delicate areas like the face and underarms and intimate waxing because it can be gentler on the skin and better at removing courser hair.
For the best waxing experience, your hair should be at least ¼ inch long or grown for minimum of 3weeks. If your hair is too short, the wax may not be able to grip it properly and you might not get the results you want.
Yes, absolutely, many Clients have come to a Nikita Salon for their first intimate wax in their last trimester of pregnancy. However, if you have any pregnancy complications it’s best to speak to a healthcare professional first.
Generally, clients get less in-growing hairs than shaving however it’s important to keep skin exfoliated and hydrating to reduce this. For some Clients Ingrown hairs are just a side effect of hair removal, and advice can be given to effectively reduce them. Krissie loves getting in-growing hairs out so please don’t be embarrassed if you have a couple.
